The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has once again opened registration for the Indonesia Halal Industry Awards (IHYA) 2026. This annual award event is the government's highest form of appreciation for the innovation, creativity and collaboration of stakeholders in advancing the national halal industry ecosystem so that it can compete globally.
Deputy Minister of Industry Faisol Riza stressed that Indonesia has a grand vision of becoming the world's halal industry hub. Moreover, the market potential for halal products, both domestically and internationally, continues to show significant growth and is ready to become a new engine of national economic growth.
“We hope more and more industry players will take part in IHYA 2026. Through this event, we want to recognize businesses that keep innovating and contributing to the development of the national halal industry. Their success proves that Indonesian halal products not only excel in quality, but also have strong added value and competitiveness globally,” Deputy Minister Faisol Riza said in a statement in Jakarta on Friday (19/6).
This year's IHYA is different, introducing two new categories: Best Higher Education Institution Supporting the Halal Industry and Best SMI Center Management Institution Supporting the Halal Industry. These additions underline the importance of triple helix synergy between government, business and academia in strengthening the foundations of industry, especially in the Small and Medium Industry (SMI) sector.
IHYA 2026 will present 22 awards in seven main categories: large industrial companies, small and medium industrial companies, industrial estate companies, SMI center management institutions, government institutions, higher education institutions and financial service institutions. The awards recognize industry players for their contributions and innovations in supporting the development of the national halal industry.
Furthermore, IHYA 2026 is also a means of raising industry players' awareness and readiness for the mandatory halal certification taking effect on 18 October 2026. The obligation covers several strategic sectors, from food and beverages, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals to consumer goods such as textiles and textile products, footwear and leather, tableware and glassware.
Last year, IHYA attracted 1,031 participants. This shows the high enthusiasm of industry players for developing the national halal industry. Through IHYA 2026, Kemenperin hopes more industry players will get involved and benefit from stronger networks, capacity building and recognition of their contributions to Indonesia's halal ecosystem. Registration is open from 18 June to 24 July 2026 free of charge. More information is available on the official IHYA portal at ihya.kemenperin.go.id.
“IHYA is a moment of transformation. We invite all industry players to take part in supporting the national halal industry ecosystem through IHYA 2026. Together, let us make Indonesia the center of the global halal supply chain,” the Deputy Minister concluded.
